Are you searching for the perfect, easy Halloween cookie recipe? I was too for the longest time and could never find the Halloween recipe that met all of my requirements… until this one!
I love a good seasonal Halloween cookie! Who does love biting into a warm, gooey, fresh baked bite of deliciousness with a spooky season flair? But do you know what I absolutely hate about cookies?
Recipes that take a million years. And dirty dishes. And 468 ingredients. And did I mention that I hate dirty dishes?
Insert “Halloween Blossoms,” or “Witch’s Hats,” or whatever you want to call them! It doesn’t matter, they won’t be hanging around your kitchen for very long! This is the perfect, easy Halloween cookie recipe and these cookies are my go-to recipe for every fall or Halloween occasion where a treat is needed!
This easy Halloween cookie recipe is super versatile (change those sprinkle colors out and all of your holidays are covered), and doesn’t require a homemade dough. However, if you are a domestic goddess and have all that time to make your own dough and don’t mind the dirty dishes and 468 ingredients, by all means, make that dough!
Now, let’s get to the recipe and directions. Don’t you hate when bloggers take forever and tell you a story about their grandma’s cousin’s aunt before telling you how to make the dang cookies? Yep, me too. So let’s get to it!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 package of break and bake sugar cookies (or like I said, make your own if you’re a domestic goddess)
- Assorted Halloween colored sprinkles (think purple, orange, lime green, etc)
- A shareable size bag of Hershey’s Kisses (I recommend milk chocolate or Hugs. You will need at least 1 per cookie, more if you want to eat a few while the cookies are baking like I do.)
DIRECTIONS
- Pre-heat the oven to 350
- Grab a few small bowls and dump one color of sprinkles in each one (I used 3 different bowls for my 3 colors)
- Open the cookie dough package
- Take each raw cookie dough ball and roll it in your choice of sprinkles (I recommend alternating colors because I am OCD and like even numbers of things LOL)
- Place the sprinkle-covered cookie dough balls on a non-stick or greased baking sheet (space them 2-3 inches apart so they don’t run together)
- Bake @350 for around 10 minutes or until the cookies are slightly brown on the edges. You may need more or less baking time, depending on your oven. I tend to let mine be slightly underdone because it keeps them chewy when they cool, rather than crispy.
- While cookies are still in the oven, go ahead and unwrap your kisses so they are ready to be plopped onto those nice, hot cookies!
- Once the cookies look done, pull them out and immediately place an unwrapped kiss in the center of the cookie; push them down gently so they don’t collapse (trust me, I learned this the hard way). We just need them to adhere to the cookie so when everything cools, the kisses don’t fall off.
- Once cookies are cool enough to transfer, place them carefully in a sealed contained to keep them fresh and chewy! Did I mention I like chewy cookies?
Happy Spooky Season! Let’s me know below if you decide to make these easy Halloween cookies and how they turn out for you!
